Leaking names of Agents, talk about consistency

Twice now the Bush administration has divulged the identity of intelligence agents in the last year. The first case was last year when an anonymous source leaked from the White House the name of a man's wife who was a CIA agent.

And just the other day the identity of an Al Qaeda captive who chose to act as a double agent had his name revealed, ruining the chances of capturing any more Al Qaeda operatives and acquiring more information about plans and locations of Al Qaeda cells.

Gotta hand it to Bush here, at least his people are being consistent here about leaking agent's names, regardless of if they were a political enemy or a great war resource.

Are they purposely making sure this fight drags on, is this part of some election strategy behind the scenes that has a number of tricks up it's sleeve? I mean first there was the notion of postponing the election in the event of a terrorist attack.

Then Florida governor Jeb Bush told people who were voting Bush to not go out and vote on election day on the Diebold electronic voting machines but rather send them in as absentee ballots (so they don't have the ability to change their mind of election day is another probable reason).

And now we have thrown away our greatest intelligence asset on Al Qaeda -- an INSIDER since we have had NO luck in getting our own Russian speaking white people into the terror group (no idea why...(sarcasm)), who was providing information that allowed for the rest of a number of operative recently around Pakistan and elsewhere.

And then the day after -- today -- Republican Representative Goss was nominated by Bush for the position of Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Goss, who served as an intelligence officer earlier on no doubt has the qualifications there, but being a politician who has no doubt developed an agenda and allies who could use this new posting to their advantage, is a representative from Florida, so there is some election year politics here in the form of trying to grab votes from Florida, something that usually the Vice President on the ticket is chosen for, to get a certain other group of voters.

What the hell is up with this? Is it all one freaky coincidence? Realistically there is something more to all of it, related and not related to each of the items above, that's obvious, but how much is related and to what degree and for why I can not really say. Its just really suspicious, and I'd only be speculating.
